Amazing First Ever Community Evening!

The first ever Mayflower Community Evening brought over 170 adults to the academy to share food, language and conversation.

Parents and friends came with their children and in the hall and on the playground sat together sharing play, stories and food. There was world music playing throughout the event and in future years we understand that the children will be performing with their violins.

Ms Hanley, our Acting Principal, said "This has been a fabulous first ever community event. There is a fantastic sense of the diversity and uniqueness of each family, coming together with their food and traditional dress, but joining in a celebration of academy life which focuses on a sense of British community which reflects common values and a love of each other and education."

Mr Britt, our Executive Principal also added:  "At Harris Primary Academy Mayflower we have a set of core values which underpin our identity and sense of Britishness. These values of teamwork, achievement, perseverance, responsibility and manners, have provided a framework which binds our children and families together, whilst we value and benefit from the diverse heritages and cultures of origin that make up this academy."
