Your Child's Learning Journey
Your child’s Learning Journey is a collection of documents that provide a picture of their development under the areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage. They consist of photos, art-work, mark-making and maths work and are interspersed with observations made by staff including notes of relevant conversations or comments made by your child.
The adults working with your child then match observations and work to the Early Years Foundation Stage profile. We actively encourage parents and carers to contribute towards their child’s Learning Journey by:
· Completing a ‘Star Moments’ sheet, including things that you have seen or heard you child do or say at home. This may involve writing their name independently, reading words by sounding out, taking turns and sharing with their siblings
· By attending our Learning Journeys coffee mornings. You are welcome to bring along photographs and observations from home. During the workshop we will stick this information into your child’s Learning Journey.
· By looking through your Child’s Learning journey in the classroom and completing a ‘Learning Journey- Parental Involvement’ sheet, including things that you are pleased about or have found out about when looking through your child’s Learning Journey.
