Mayflower Chicks
The children and staff have thoroughly enjoyed having 30 visiting chicks in our Academy over the last two weeks. On Monday 1st May, 30 eggs arrived in incubators and our children watched the eggs hatch live into chicks. They have then spent two weeks learning about life cycles, writing child diarys and caring for the chicks in their classroom. This is the 3rd year our Academy has taken part in the chick project and once again it has been a success. This year it has been such a success that we are hoping to keep 8 of our chicks in the grounds of our Academy and continue to care for them. We know they will provide so many valuable learning opportuities and the chance for our children to really demonstrate the Core Value of Responsibility.
