Minibeasts Everywhere!!
Here are some photos from our first week of the new term.
Over the holidays the children were encouraged to create a junk model on a Minibeast theme. WE had wonderful support from our fantastic parents and you can see what a lot of learning took place at home from the minibeasts the children brought in.
In School, we have been exploring the features of Minibeasts with magnifying glasses. We have been learning the story of ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ and tasting fruits and veg from all over the world (mangoes, avocados, raspberries, grapes and carrots). The children came up with fantastic describing words for the fruit and vegetables, which we have used in our writing.
We have lots to look forward to this term. An ant farm, worm farm and butterflies will really engage the children and provide lots of rich learning experiences.
