Baby Chicks in EYFS!
This week we continued our focus of animals and read the book ‘And Tango makes three’. We talked about the penguins hatching their eggs and how sometimes families look different.
The children were very excited when ten eggs arrived from the farm and were placed in a special incubator which keeps them warm just like their parents would normally do.
On Wednesday, the children got to watch some of them hatching from the eggs and begin to change into fluffy little chicks. The children tried to guess if it would be a boy (yellow) or a girl (brown) chick. By Thursday morning, there were ten baby chicks ready to be moved to their special brooder box
