Alim Kamara - Poet in Residence
This week, Year 6, along with the rest of KS2, took part in a spoken word and poetry workshop to celebrate Black History Month with the wonderful Alim Kamara. The children were inspired by some positive affirmations, along with having the opportunity to perform some well-known poems by black poets. It was wonderful to see children stepping out of their comfort zone to perform in front of their peers. Alim shared some of the work he does around the world with other schools, and he also showed off his rapping skills, which left the children very much impressed. All in all, it was a fantastic way to end the Black History Month celebrations!
