Heart Month

Each year, the British Heart Foundation declares February as National Heart Month in the UK. During this time, awareness of a variety of heart conditions are highlighted and the work of many charities, organisations and hospitals are celebrated. Many of us have heard of diseases relating to the heart and circulation and refer to these as cardiovascular diseases or heart disease. However, there are many different types of heart conditions and problems that we are not always aware of. The British Heart Foundation and The Evelina Children’s Hospital are charities close to the heart of our community as they supported two of our wonderful Mayflower families when their babies needed life-saving heart operations. Both Elsie and baby Hamza are fighting fit as you can see from the photos below.
