Harris Primary Academy Mayflower Awarded Diversity Gold Award!

We are delighted to announce that after a rigorous assessment we were awarded the Diversity Mark Gold Award, only one of two schools to hold the award.

The Diversity Gold Award recognises where schools and academies embed diversity and equality into every aspect of school life.

At Mayflower we celebrate our similarities as well as our differences and all children, staff and families ensure that our approach is lived out.

Our curriculum in the Autumn term focuses on identity- we understand that children absolutely need to understand who they are, where they come from and to be proud of their heritage.

Over 2017-2019 we will be working towards becoming a 'Centre of Excellence' for diversity and equality and will support other schools on the journey to embedding practice.

A huge well done to Mrs Carrington for all her work on this.
