Governor Appointment
Dear Parents/Carers,
Re; Parent Governor Election
As you may be aware we advertised a Parent Governor vacancy on our academy website before the half term break and we are very pleased to say that we have appointed Natalie Smith-Dowrich to take on the role of Parent Governor at Harris Primary Academy Mayflower with immediate effect.
As we received just the one application, and a very strong one at that, Natalie has been duly elected.
Below is a copy of Natalie’s statement:
“My name is Natalie Smith-Dowrich and I wish to declare my interest in the position of School Governor. Two of my children currently attend Harris Primary Academy Mayflower. Over the last 17 years I have been working in the education sector. If given the opportunity, I will partner with the school to ensure that high standards of learning for all children are achieved.
I would like to see that provision for learning is available for effective teaching and learning at all Key Stages. I will to challenge leadership in their stance on safeguarding, training of staff and the development of policies and procedures. Although the school plays a key role in a child’s education, I also believe that there must be a joint effort on the part of parents. I offer my experience and a voice for other parents like myself.”
I hope you will join me in congratulating Natalie and in welcoming her into her new role.
Kind regards,
Matt Britt
Executive Headteacher
