Remembrance
On Sunday, 10th November, 20 members of our Academy Pupil Board joined local community groups, neighbouring schools, the Scouts and Cubs alongside our Chafford dignitaries to commemorate Armistice Day. After the Pupil Board met the Mayor, Councillor Susan Little, they actively joined in with the service, which was led by members of The Community Church singing hymns. The short procession provided some Parents with the opportunity to share familial memories of how generations past had contributed to the war and helped to remind the children of the significance of the event. The event has become such a key part of our Mayflower calendar, that many siblings of our Pupil Board members, also joined us to complete the procession to Kershaw Close from Warren Primary School where we laid a wreath in solidarity with the attending war veterans.
In school, all our classes created beautiful Remembrance Day windows to commemorate this important.
