Year 5 visit Pizza Express!

It has been an exciting start for the Year 5 pupils, with our trip to Pizza Express, which was a huge success. Our topic in D.T. is about Seasonal Soups and the children have been learning about seasonal foods grown in our country and some other interesting facts about food. The children had to try and identify some vegetables and learn about how long they last in our households. Once the children learnt the relevant skills, each child had the opportunity to create their own pizza. They followed the step-by-step instructions and learnt the key vocabulary used at different stages of the process. After successfully completing the preparation, the pizzas were then put in the oven (by the supporting adults) and each child was able to take their pizza home or eat it at school. We are already looking forward to our next Year 5 class visiting the restaurant very soon!
