Year 2 National Gallery Trip
This week, Year 2 attended a trip to the National Gallery to view various paintings in line with their Art topic this term. The children travelled by coach and enjoyed the scenery of London. On the way to the gallery, they were able to point out The London Eye, Big Ben and other landmarks. Upon arrival at the gallery, there was gasps of fascination as to how big and beautiful the architecture of the gallery is. The children admired paintings created by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso, who they learned about in Year 1. After lunch, the children recreated their favourite paintings by drawing a sketch on paper. We finished the day by looking at the fountains and the four lions. The children had a lot of fun.
