The KS2 Pupil Board had the opportunity to visit the Mayor’s Parlour and the Council Chamber. The Mayor spoke about her duties and the children took part in a debate, which gave the children a chance to learn about local governance and develop their communication skills. pic.twitter.com/lsbakMmaRs

Superheroes in Year 1

This half term in Year 1, the children are learning ‘Superheroes’ for English. To kick start this topic, the children came to school dressed up as Superheroes. The children loved immersing themselves into character. The children have been using lots of new vocabulary words from the new text, 'Eliot the Midnight Superhero'. They have particularly enjoyed writing in role this week as a superhero. They have described what their superpower would be and how they would use this to help people. This has also made links to our History topic this half term of ‘significant people’.
