Football Success!
It was a day of mixed emotions as our boys lined up for their
last league game of the season and the last game for our
Year 6 children in primary school. After a disappointing loss
in the cup, the children were focused and determined to
come back stronger - they did not disappoint. We faced an
extremely physical Quarry Hill team and from the start we
knew it would be a difficult game. The boys displayed
passions and desire and it was clear to see how much they
wanted to win. The passing was slick, their communication
was constant, and the movement off the ball was hard for
the opponents to deal with. After some fantastic saves by
the Quarry Hill goalkeeper, we finally took our chances and
we were 3-0 up by half time. The boys continued to work
incredibly hard and were enjoying their football - the game
finished 5-0 to Mayflower! This result puts us top of the
league and now we have to wait for other results before
knowing our final league position - a huge well-done boys!
