People Who Help Us

The Mayflower children have been learning all about people who help us, as the focus for their topic this term.

 

The new garage, complete with mechanic's workbench, tyre fitting kit and receptionist desk is proving to be a real hit with the children and  they can be heard arranging appointments, asking for help as they work together to repair and fit out cars and bikes, as well as seeing how to inflate the tyres.

 

The fire station is also a busy place, as the pictures show, with a working fire engine as well as a call centre desk and office. The children are enjoying the writing and number opportunities that our environments provide.

 

It has been a really positive start to life at Mayflower and the first hand learning approach is, as you can see, full of challenge, fun and excitement. Our aim is to have all of the children engaged and confident in making choices as they learn.
